With Fall around the corner, now is the time to get out and take a quick trip.
From seasonal foliage to ghost towns to natural wonders, I've put together some unforgettable destinations that are worth seeing - All within our great state. The trips themselves give you a chance to gain inspiration, connect with a corner of Texas that is different than your own, and make lasting memories.
Garner State Park for fall foliage: The cypress, oak, mesquite, and persimmon trees adopt various breathtaking shades of red, orange, and yellow.

Terlingua Ghost Town: Located near Big Bend, it's one of Texas' most famous ghost towns. Terlingua was a mining town and was the site of the famous championship chili cook-off in 1967.

Palo Duro Canyon for natural wonder: The perfect location for the outdoor enthusiasts, Palo Duro Canyon is known as the "Grand Canyon of Texas."

Marfa for the art and cuisine: Often ranked as one of the best small towns in Texas, this cultural icon has become famous with a Prada-theme art exhibit in a city with less than 2,000 people.

Port Isabel for the lighthouse: You can see the entire South Padre Island from atop this historic lighthouse. A replica of the lighthouse keeper's cottage is also on the grounds.
