Let's welcome Little Death Wine Bar to the exclusive ranks of G&M Approved as we believe they represent the best of the best in San Antonio. Little Death Wine Bar is #14 in this series and is a great addition to what we believe to be an incredibly inviting and welcoming wine bar/wine store.

Just a bit about Little Death Wine Bar directly from their website: Little Death Wine Bar is a fun place to drink and discover cool and interesting wines you won’t find on other wine lists. It is a passion project brought to you by Chad Carey, the owner of Empty Stomach restaurants, Paper Tiger, Rumble & Midnight Swim. We are located on the N St. Mary’s Strip, nestled between Burger Boy and Midnight Swim. If you like wine, or even if you don’t, we hope you’ll come by for a glass or a bottle any day of the week. "An amazing and unique wine tasting experience and a hidden gem along the St. Mary strip. Our friends recommended it to us and we made sure to stop by while walking the area. The vibe is quiet and french but surrounded with loud street art and a nice array of food and appetizers.

My wife and I stopped by and got a $5 glass of chilled cinsault which was an absolute steal and a great treat on a hot day. We paired that up with their single cheese plate, sourdough bread, a side of fig jam, and an order of olives and oil and it was all delicious.

Along with all of this they had an incredible selection of french wines and we saw multiple groups stop by to pick up their wines for the weekend and receive some great recommendations from the staff there." - Marty P.

"What a sweet spot! Friday night was my first time visiting this venue. I understand now what issues this construction may have on business. We could see the venue, but we're on the wrong side of the construction to get there. We went in, what seemed to be a huge circle, to finally get to the side where we could turn on the road. Once in front of the venue, the construction materials made parking an exciting challenge, which the boyfriend quickly accepted, and managed to conquer.

The venue has a lot of outdoor seating and staying inside. There is a walk up counter where you can order by the glass or make a bottle selection from the wines on the wall. There is a fridge with a small beer selection as well as a menu of small bites.

The person that helped us was friendly and allowed us to sample options. We went with the recommended red which was delicious and unfortunately, I neglected to check the name.

The ambiance was chill and the weather was perfect for this Friday night in January.

I'll definitely come back.

Bonus, it's next to Burger Boy, which you may be able to order for curbside pickup." - Kristina B.

"Love the ambiance here. Delicious wine, super helpful staff. My friends and I didn't know what we liked, so they gave us samples! They do not do flights here so we were thankful for the samples! Side note- if you're into sweet or moscato type wines, this is not your place to drink - just to vibe with friends ! The only sweet wine is a dry semi sweet white but I can't remember the name or type."
