The first G&M Approved feature is none other than Outlaw Kitchens...
Located in the Alta Vista neighborhood of midtown San Antonio, Outlaw Kitchens is a small, neighborhood eatery and market offering both takeaway and dining in.

The menu consists of Chef Paul Sartory's nightly suppers plus a vegetarian or vegan option. A typical night at Outlaw Kitchens might include an appetizer of RISOTTO with fresh gulf shrimp and snow peas and an entree of GRILLED HANGER STEAK with FRENCH FRIED ONIONS. His vegetarian dishes are standouts as well with handmade pasta, curries and braises as his mainstays. i.e. GNOCCHI PIEMONTAISE with roasted butternut squash, cremini mushrooms, sautéed spinach and shaved parmesan.

In addition to the nightly menu the “OK” market offers a line of handmade, frozen dinners and unique wares ranging from locally crafted pottery to Paul’s homemade marmalades.
Chef Paul Sartory and his wife Peggy Howe are transplants from Upstate New York where Paul was a Senior Chef Instructor at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
While working for the CIA, Paul developed the concept of Outlaw Kitchens. His idea was simple. He would offer one dinner nightly at a price that his friends and neighbors could afford on a regular basis. With fresh, seasonal ingredients in mind and a wife who is skilled in historical renovations they succeeded in turning an 80 year old limestone bungalow located on a quarter acre of land into their home, garden and restaurant. Six years in the making, they believe they got it right and hope that you do too!
The Outlaw Kitchens Takeaway Cafe can be found at 2919 N Flores St. in San Antonio, TX. The “OK” is open M-F from 5-8pm. Check out their website for the posting of their daily menu: www.outlawkitchens.com
